I don’t know why I’ve been on such a big damn pirate kick but I can’t get enough right now. The video of the day today is a dope ass behind the scenes on Pirates of The Caribbean from Disney Land. I had no idea that Pirates opened by pirate actors storming Disney Land and taking over a section of New Orleans square with gun and sword fights. Pretty badass move. They should do it once a year.

I never really played as a pirate when I was a kid and I kind of regret that. I definitely pretended I was Simon Belmont from Castlevania II anytime it snowed, so I wonder why I didn’t put on some husky size jean cut offs and run my ass around the woods as a pirate. Maybe it was too old fashioned. We were all pretending to be Rastlin and fuckers from Dragonlance or Elf Quest. I guess pirates were in the same boat as cowboys and Indians. Its a shame though. I’d love to be able to run off to the woods now and pretend to look for buried treasure. Of course, I live in LA, so the only treasure I’d find is some hobo corpse and an AIDS condom. I guess I should stay indoors. For now…

This is dope as fuck. Also, I am pretty terrible at playing multiplayer Little Big Planet. I think I get too impatient. When I first got the game I sat down with my wife to play it and we were all like, “Oh shit! This is amazing look how beautiful all this bullshit is! I love you, honey.” and then the second we had to do something together like lower a drawbridge we were like “WTF is a matter with you, you fucking retard! Jump on that lever! For FUCK’S SAKE, honey, jump on that god damn lever! We’ve been stuck here for thirty minutes!….I still love you.”

Today’s video is another BBC The Wind and The Willows treat. This is the song from one of the best and creepiest episodes from the entire The Wind and The Willows series. In it a strange and oddly disquieting sea rat offers to take Mr. Rat on a journey starting in Constantinople and beyond. There is something sinster in the offer though it is never made explicit. Anyway, its a bomb ass episode. I think the entire episode might be on YouTube as well.

So I do commercial acting to pay my bills. Often times its stupid but sometimes it’s fucking awesome. My friend Dan Bialek started working at an ad agency and they came up with this cool sneaky little app. You know what 4 Square is right? Where you can check in via your phone, well this let’s you check in someplace you aren’t so you can be a scumbag. The way they advertised it was to get a bunch of stand up comics and have them play different forms of scum bags. I lucked out and got to do a stoned gamer as well as a dude addicted to pills.I’m linking the gamer one as it fits the most with the overall idea of Dorksplosion.

You can check out the website for the app here. I’m pretty pumped about it. They had Bil Dywer (Battle Bots and tons of TV shows) and Frank Coniff (TV’s Frank from MST3K) in the shoot too so I was fucking jazzed.

Have you ever had a fool proof alibi for some sneaky shit?

I love the Mother series. I’m currently playing Mother 3. I had stopped for a year or so because the game is pretty sad. It’s a sweet kind of sad, though which is always good. This track from Mother (EarthBound Zero) is so amazing to me. It kind of gets me choked up. The music in all these games is really kind of sublimely perfect.

Video of the Day: Gamedians, T&C Surf Designs

A while back my buddies Dan Bialek, Dan Telfer and I made some videos where we nerd ranted about different games. This is one of those games, a classic NES surfing/skateboarding game. I’m posting this because I had a dream last night that I found a secret level on T&C Surf Designs. Yup, no dreams  of wealth and power, just me finding a fairly ordinary hidden level in a mid-rate Nintendo game about a surfing gorilla. I hope you enjoy.

Man fuck yes. When I was just a little dork I dreamed that one day people would play Nintendo theme concerts. I never knew that something like YouTube would come a long and I would get my face rocked the fuck off by some dude playing Zelda on a god damn theremin. Fuck yes.

Sensei for the Apple IIGS

I used to play the ass out of this game. I thought it was amazing even though all you do is fight the same red karate dude over and over in different locations. The intro music is hilarious because I am sure the programmers thought it was “rocking”. This is the only video I could find of it, and it looks like ass because the dude who took it just filmed his Apple IIGS. There was a card you could get to record from your Apple to your VCR waaay back in the day and my family used to make cartoons on our computer that way. I guess this dude did not have that card. Anyway, check it out.
